DASA Raises $33,583,000 from Think and Do the Extraordinary Campaign

NC State University raised more than $2.1 billion for scholarships, faculty support, facilities and programs through its five-year Think and Do the Extraordinary Campaign, which came to a close Dec. 31, 2021. During the Campaign, alumni, faculty and staff, students, parents and others gave generously and frequently to the Division of Academic and Student Affairs.

As a result of the Think and Do the Extraordinary Campaign, the division:

  • Received 31,857 gifts from 18,903 donors (7,050 from alumni)
  • Raised $33,583,983
  • Received gifts for 208 different funds, including enhancement and restricted funds, new programmatic endowments and scholarships. 

“Your investment in our programs has improved our ability to serve all NC State students regardless of their college or major,” said Doneka Scott, vice chancellor and dean for the Division of Academic and Student Affairs. “Together, almost 19,000 donors contributed nearly $34 million to DASA’s campaign — far beyond our $20 million dollar goal.

“Philanthropy has strengthened how our programs and services address student needs and create tight-knit communities within a large, complex university,” Scott continued. “I want to acknowledge the past two years have been unlike anything we’ve ever experienced. Our students, many of whom already struggle with various stressors, were put under extreme financial and emotional pressure during the pandemic. Through the assistance of our Pack Essentials programs and thanks to the generosity of hundreds of alumni, parents and friends, we have been able to provide critical food, housing and financial assistance to more than 4,000 students.”
