Special Events

The end of the semester is quickly approaching and we’re wrapping up the 2021-2022 academic year. Take some time out to recharge your batteries while you make it through the finish line. Choose between a variety of events hosted by campus wellness partners April 28 – May 4 to help you maintain a balanced lifestyle, even during stressful times.

Stressbuster Screen Printing 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. NC State Crafts Center Come print an Academic Year Commemoration shirt or fabric of your choice. Bring your own 100% natural fiber T-shirt, tote bag, etc. [no synthetic fabrics] and walk away with a memento of the academic year! No registration required
HIIT Your Stress Away 4:30 – 5:00 p.m. Miller Field Meet at Miller Field! H.I.I.T. stands for High Intensity Interval Training, It’s 30 minutes focusing on full-body conditioning paired with cardio bursts. Grab your water, towel, and energy. Register Here
Self-Care Station Table 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Wellness and Recreation Center Main Entrance Drop by Wellness and Recreation to build a self-care kit to help you power through the finals finish line. No registration required
Slime, Not Stress 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Harris Fields Come hang out with the Mental Health Ambassadors and craft some sensory items to destress! Register Here
Chalk it Up! Community Mural 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. Brickyard Join Prevention Services as we sidewalk chalk our murals using positive affirmations to promote good mental health practice and encourage community resiliency. No registration required
Self-Care During Finals 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. via Zoom Come learn strategies on how to take care of yourself and recharge during finals week Register Here
NC State LIVE: Martha Redbone Roots Project 8:00 p.m. Stewart Theatre For their last Stewart Theatre concert of spring semester, NC State LIVE brings back Martha Redbone and her unique blend of Kentucky folk and blues mixed with the grit of pre-gentrified Brooklyn Tickets

Play-Doh Power Hour 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Wellness and Recreation Center Main Entrance Join Wellness and Recreation for a time of Play-Doh relaxation. Come grab some Play-Doh and let your imagination run wild. Use this time to let your creativity shine as your stress melts away. No registration required
Walk and Talk 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. Meet behind Student Health Services Mindfulness based, body orientated support, working to calm the nervous system. Find connections with other students during the walk. Meet behind the Student Health building. No registration required
Recovery Rocks 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. In Front of Student Health Services Come learn more about the collegiate recovery community through a fun painting activity. No registration required

Yoga Nidra (Sleep Yoga) 6:45 – 7:45 p.m. Wellness and Recreation Center Mind Body Studio 3150 Be guided into a deeper connection with your body as this style of relaxed yoga lets you find a complete physical, mental and emotional rest. Register Here

Mind Boosting Monday 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Wellness and Recreation Center Mind Body Studio 3150 Mondays can be a drag. Drop by Wellness and Recreation for activities to energize and boost your mood. Listen to music, enjoy some mindful movement, and get tools to help keep your energy high. No registration required
Mind Over Misery 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Witherspoon 204 Join the Mental Health Ambassadors to learn more about mindfulness and how it can help with stress! We’ll be discussing self-compassion and creating a mindfulness routine. No registration required
Mental Health in Kids’ Cartoons 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Talley 5260 Taking a break from studying to watch a show? Join us the Mental Health Ambassadors to talk about how kids’ shows and cartoons demonstrate mental health themes. We’ll be discussing childhood shows such as Avatar: The Last Airbender, the Proud Family, Steven Universe, and Adventure Time. There will be discussion and activities about how the characters experience mental health and what these shows can teach us about mental health. No registration required

Cookies and Coloring 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Student Involvement Suite Take a study break and join Wellness and Recreation for some much needed cookies and coloring with a side of relaxation. Bring your friends over to the Student Involvement Suite for a time of peaceful coloring and cookie indulgence. No registration required
