NC State Club Swimming Hosts Meet Benefiting UNC Children’s Hospital
On Saturday, January 30, NC State Club Swimming is teaming up with UNC and Duke’s Club Swimming programs to host the Inaugural Triangle Area Pajamas for the Kids Invitational. This swim meet will be benefitting UNC Children’s Hospital, and each swimmer is donating two pairs of pajamas for the patients.
NC State Club Swimming president Courtney Like-Mathews said, “We decided to ask for pajamas because our contact in the hospital said it’s what the children really want. The children really don’t want to spend all day in their hospital gown, so getting fun pajamas really makes them smile!” There will be a pajama donation table at the event for additional donations as well.
This event includes helping a great cause, friendly competition, and all three team’s graduating senior members will be recognized. The meet will also allow swimmers to qualify for nationals. With involving all three schools, the goal is to donate at least 200 pairs of pajamas to UNC Children’s Hospital. NC State Club Swimming hopes to continue this local triangle area event, and make it bigger and better in the years to come.
