NIRSA Basketball Tournament to be held at NC State

NC State University Recreation will be hosting the 13th Annual NIRSA National Basketball Championship Friday, April 17 to Sunday, April 19. In the eighth and final year of NC State hosting the tournament, more than 96 teams are participating. There are 24 men’s intramural teams, 12 women’s intramural teams, 32 men’s club teams, and 28 women’s club teams.

Play begins at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and will continue until the men’s club championship game on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. Carmichael Gym Courts 1 – 11 are expected to be impacted by this tournament for the entire weekend and will be offline for recreational use.

Beginning the tournament on Thursday, Doug Shows an NCAA Official will be the Keynote Speaker. As a Division I official for 23 years, Shows has officiated in the Men’s NCAA Final Four as well as the National Championship games in 2011 and 2014.
