Small Group Training Free Week Allows Members to Explore Fitness at UREC
Beginning Tuesday, August 30, University Recreation will be offering members the opportunity to try some of UREC’s most effective fitness courses without cost. During Small Group Training Free Week all classes from Metabolic Madness and Premier Boxing, to SUP Yoga and Yoga Inversions will be available for free. In Small Group Training courses participants work with a qualified instructor in order to meet their fitness goals. Leigha Krick, Group Fitness Coordinator, sees the free week as a way for members to try something new and unique:
“Free Week is an opportunity for individuals to experience and explore the unique benefits provided by Small Group Training,” Krick said. “Small Group Training is where group fitness meets personal training. You get the benefits of individualized attentions and progressive training that aligns with specific goals, while maintaining the energy and comradery of a group style work out.”
Krick emphasized the fact that Small Group Training does not have to sacrifice attention towards and individual’s goals to foster a sense of group progress. “Small Group Training both focuses on specific goals and creates communities of individuals with shared goals and interests.” “Small Group Training is actually something we are bringing back this fall.” Krick explains that UREC’s efforts to bring back Small Group Training are a response to small groups popularity within the fitness industry at large. “We are hoping that by revamping our small group program we are able to provide opportunities that are popular in an accessible and affordable manor for our participants.”
Small Group Training Free Week ends Monday, September 5. Registration opens on IM Leagues 24 hours before an individual class begins. Classes are likely to fill up quickly, so it is important to register early.
