Memberships

Welcome to Wellness and Recreation! Our members have access to over 450,000 sq. ft. of indoor space and 8 acres of outdoor space, eligibility to register for both our no-cost and paid programs, check out equipment and towels to be returned the same day, and more. Check below to see if you qualify and get started today!

Membership Eligibility

  • NCSU fee-paying students already have their membership included in their student fees. See the student membership type for more information on eligibility and  membership dates. 
  • All other eligible groups (non-fee paying students, faculty/staff, temp employees, alumni, affiliates, retirees, household, and family members) may visit the Member Services desk located at the main entrance of the Wellness and Recreation Center to purchase your membership. Be sure to bring your WolfPack One ID and a Visa or Mastercard for payment.

Membership Types and Rates

Students

  • Currently-enrolled NC State students registered for on-campus classes and paying full student fees in the current semester are automatically Wellness and Recreation members. The typical full-time undergraduate and graduate student pays:
  • Recreational sports fee | $87.75 per semester ($175.50 per year)
  • Carmichael indebtedness fees | $46.25 per semester ($92.50 per year).
  • Distance education (DE) and non-degree seeking (NDS) students enrolled in courses, but who are not paying the above student fees, may purchase a Wellness and Recreation Membership in-person.
  • Fall and Spring memberships are prorated to $50 halfway through each semester.

Faculty/Staff

  • NC State Faculty/Staff, and No-Pay Appointments are eligible to purchase a Wellness and Recreation Center membership both in-person and online.
  • NC State Faculty/Staff that currently receive paychecks are eligible to purchase a membership via payroll deduction.
  • Payroll deduction memberships are based on a one-year contract, with monthly membership fees paid via payroll deduction. Following the first year, membership fees will continue to be payroll deducted on a month-to-month basis indefinitely until canceled.
  • Cancelation during the one-year contract period may be subject to a $25 fee. Cancellations must be submitted via this form on or before the seventh day of each month to avoid the next month’s deduction.

Alumni

  • New Members: Any former NC State student is eligible to purchase a Wellness and Recreation alumni membership. Former students enrolled in 2021 or sooner may have their alumni eligibility verified by the staff at the member services desk. Former students enrolled before 2021 need to complete this form for alumni verification.
  • Former NC State students may qualify for the one-time purchase of the Previously Enrolled Student membership the first semester following their last semester of enrollment in classes. This must be done in-person so the member services team can verify previous semester enrollment. See Students for membership dates.

Affiliates

  • NC State affiliates must have a Wolfpack One Card to be eligible to purchase a Wellness and Recreation Center membership in-person. Upon obtaining your WolfPack One Card, we will need to set up your account at the Member Services desk. If you do not have a Wolfpack One Card, one can be requested via the Wolfpack One Card office located at Talley Student Union.
  • Common affiliates include: Campus partners, Centennial campus partners, Campbell Law (can provide Campbell Law ID), and visiting scholars.

Retirees

  • NC State University retirees are eligible to purchase a Wellness and Recreation Center membership in-person or online. New retirees must complete this form for retiree verification.

Household

  • Current members are eligible to sponsor up to three household members, 18-years or older, at an additional cost for each membership. Memberships must be both purchased and renewed in-person. 
  • Proof of the same address is required at the time of membership registration and renewal. Please bring one item from the accepted items list (below) to show proof of address. The current member (sponsoring member) must be present at the time of household membership purchases.
  • Address verification accepted items: Current utility bill, personal checks, current lease agreement, valid driver’s license, current insurance bill or card, current credit card statement, current bank statement, current semester tuition bill, current payroll check.

Family Recreation

  • Current members are eligible to visit the Member Services desk to register their dependent children of the same household, 17-years or younger, at no additional charge. Your children must remain with you at all times and may only access our family recreation spaces during the dedicated family recreation hours.

    • You must be within arm’s reach of your child if they cannot swim and/or not using a flotation device.
    • Please do not swim laps when you are with your children.

Fitness Add-Ons
