Paul Klem

Coordinator, Outdoor Adventures

Bio

A proud Tarheel native and Triangle resident since 2000, Paul received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He began his career in the Clinical Research industry in RTP, and rediscovered climbing as an adult. What began as a way to destress from the workweek quickly evolved into a passion, combining physical and mental challenges with opportunities to connect with others living an active lifestyle.

Committed to fostering meaningful connections, Paul aims to strengthen ties within the campus climbing community and across the outdoor adventure program at NC State. He also focuses on helping newer climbers venture outdoors safely and responsibly. Paul plans to raise awareness and drive contributions towards the stewardship and preservation of climbing areas in the central and western Piedmont, enhancing the Triangle and NC State climbing community’s exposure and commitment to these efforts.

Paul’s climbing adventures have taken him to bouldering, sport and traditional climbing crags throughout the Carolinas and the Western United States and Europe.
