Guidelines
The Intramural Sports program offers a variety of individual and team sport activities to the NC State Community. More than 7,000 participants compete in 40 different league sports and special events annually. We are committed to excellence and student success through the development of student staff and participants. For a full overview of our program, check out our Intramural Sports Handbook.
Eligibility
To be eligible to participate in Intramural Sports programming, participants must have an active Wellness and Recreation membership. Users with guest passes and family recreation memberships are not eligible for intramural sports. Please visit our memberships page for more information.
Default Form
As a courtesy to opponents and to avoid being charged with a forfeit, teams may request a default for games they will be unable to attend.
- All defaults must be made known to the Sports Programs office by 3 p.m. on the day of the game.
- For games scheduled on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, notification must be made by 12 p.m. on Friday.
- Participants must complete the Intramural Sports Default Form in order to default their games.
Playoff Reschedule Requests
Due to facility space and time limitations, playoff games through the round of 16 will not be rescheduled.
For quarterfinal, semifinal and championship games, team captains may submit an Intramural Sports Playoff Reschedule Request Form at least 48 hours before your scheduled game. Sports Programs staff will review these requests, but we make no guarantees to avoid conflicts.
Sportsmanship
Intramural Sports participants are expected to display good sportsmanship. Teams and participants that receive unsportsmanlike conduct fouls will follow these guidelines to determine eligibility for continued participation.
Greek Points
Greek organizations will compete throughout the academic year to be the Intramural Sports Greek Champion. For more information about, please visit our Greek Points page.
