Reservations

The Wellness and Recreation Center and Carmichael Gym complex provides 430,000-square-feet of recreation, fitness and wellness spaces. Reservable spaces include:

• Indoor Basketball Courts: Up to 11 courts that can be configured for multipurpose activities with badminton, basketball and volleyball court lines.
• Multipurpose Studios: Up to two studios (room 1240 or 2016) that can be used for fitness classes or multipurpose activities.
• Racquetball Courts: Up to 10 courts with second floor viewing and protective netting above walls.

Wellness and Recreation manages several outdoor spaces through NC State’s campus. Reservable spaces include:

• Miller Field: Up to three gated multipurpose fields with stadium lighting.
  • Field dimensions: 650×240 ft., 490×240 ft. and 295x230ft.
• Centennial Recreation Fields: Up to two multipurpose fields located near our 9-hole disc golf course.
  • Field dimensions: Lower Field: 200×270 ft. and Upper Field: 200×255 ft.
• Method Road Complex: Up to two gated multipurpose fields with on-site restrooms and stadium lighting.
  • Field dimensions: 260×330 ft. and 235×380 ft.
• Pickleball Courts: Up to six hard surface courts that are gated.
• Tennis Courts: Up to 10 hard surface courts that are gated.
• Outdoor Basketball Courts: Up to four outdoor basketball courts.

The Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center is a multi-use facility for recreation, club sports, athletics, Health and Exercise Studies classes and private groups. Features include:

• 25-Yard Pool: Configured for eight lanes for lap swimming and a dive well that can be converted to two additional lap lanes.
• 50-Meter Pool: Up to 18 short-course lanes or 8 long-course lanes and an ADA compliant pool chair lift.

Wellness and Recreation manages several classrooms in the facility with a variety of setups available. Please see the Room Layout Guide for details on occupancies and setups by room. Please visit the “Auxiliary Spaces” section for information on reserving the Teaching Kitchen (1158).

Wellness and Recreation reserves fitness studios on a semester basis for student organizations. Please see below for information on reserving Dance Studios (1309 and 2306).

The Wellness and Recreation Center and Carmichael Gym complex is the host site for auxiliary spaces that are managed by other university departments, including:

• Teaching Kitchen (1158): This space is managed by NC State Dining. Users may request use of this classroom via their request form.
• Dance Studios (1309 and 2306): These studios are managed by the Department of Performing Arts and Technology. Please contact Paula Riddle at pmriddl2@ncsu.edu for more information.
